Choosing a rug—especially when it is a vintage, one of a kind piece—is a big decision for most of our customers. Sometimes, the rug seems to choose the person, and the whole transaction is over in 20 minutes. Most of the time, we go through almost every piece in the shop and often end up with a narrowed down selection for a Mellah-Chez-Vous before THE RUG is chosen. We love this process, but totally understand that when all the rugs get pulled out it can feel like a RYOGBIV explosion in our 500 square foot College Street store/showroom in Toronto, Canada.
We love them because of their allusions to the stricter geometry and symmetry of "city" rugs, while still being imperfect and folky. The colors are amazing, and hardly anyone has them which makes them that much cooler. When someone asks you about your rug, you can smugly answer,
"it's a Rehamna, you've probably never heard of them."
